The word is expected to have entered the Old Norse language fairly early, since the West Norse form dreki shows signs of prolonged development with the e-vowel. Regarding palatal umlaut in West Norse, compare Old Swedish saghi to Old Icelandic segi (“a slice, bit, clot”).\nCognates Old English draca, dræce, Old High German trache, Middle Low German drake.",

The word is expected to have entered the Old Norse language fairly early, since the West Norse form dreki shows signs of prolonged development with the e-vowel. Regarding palatal umlaut in West Norse, compare Old Swedish saghi to Old Icelandic segi (“a slice, bit, clot”).\nCognates Old English draca, dræce, Old High German trache, Middle Low German drake.",
